Mountain ranges in Bwindi are between 1,160 and 2,607 meters above sea level. The landscape has steep ridges, deep valleys, thick vegetation, muddy trails, and roots that stick out.

For the Batwa cultural experience, you may have to walk on uneven ground, and for Kyambura chimpanzee tracking, you will have to go into and climb out of a gorge. Under UWA rules, you have to be at least 15 years old to go gorilla trekking and 12 years old to go chimpanzee tracking.
