Tanzania big 5 safari is famous across legendaly northern parks such as Ngorongoro, Serengeti and Tarangire National Park, but the real character of the region comes from how dramatically the landscapes change between them. People often say that the Serengeti is the heart of a Tanzanian safari.
But the bigger picture is more interesting when you include elephant country, the wetlands of the Rift Valley, the volcanic mountains, and the open savanna all in one trip. Tarangire is known for its large elephant herds and baobab trees. Lake Manyara has a groundwater forest, a floodplain, and an alkaline lake.
From June to October, the dry season is usually a good time to see wildlife. In the Serengeti, January and February can be great times to see wildebeest giving birth. Migration routes change throughout the year.
A signature habitat is closely linked to a lot of safari spots around the world. Everything around you will change on this safari, making it feel different. One day will bring forests with big trees, the next day will show the steep walls of a huge volcanic crater, and the third day will lead to the Serengeti, which seems to go on forever. This will keep the tour interesting to look at and give your guide a chance to look for wildlife in a variety of settings.
The Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti are the best places to see everyone's dream wild animals "the Big Five": lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinoceroses. Tarangire is also a great place to see elephants and other animals that eat plants. The Ngorongoro Crater is almost 260 km² in size and drops about 610 m from its crest to the floor. This makes it an unusually densely populated wildlife habitat. Although sightings are still possible, they are not guaranteed; the itinerary is purposely long enough to give multiple chances rather than depending on a single rushed game drive.
The level of comfort will stay, and the rhythm will feel like it was carefully honed. There will be nice places to stay, a professional safari guide, easy transfers, and enough time to enjoy the bush without making every day a race. Once the booking has been confirmed, accommodation information will be sent to you.

This big 5 safarisafari will be easy. The only hardest part will be getting up early, taking long road trips, and walking on rough safari trails. There are no plans for technical climbing or long-distance trekking. Most of the wildlife viewing will happen from the safari vehicle. For the cultural activities, you may have to walk on uneven ground for short periods of time.
The trips between northern Tanzania's main wildlife areas, especially the one from Serengeti to Karatu, will take the most time. Karatu and Arusha are about 160 km apart by road. Transfers from Serengeti to Ngorongoro usually take a few hours, based on the route and stops to see wildlife.
Guests with normal mobility should be able to handle the program, but people with serious mobility issues should let our tour specialist team know about their needs for vehicle access and accommodations before making a reservation.
