Mountain gorillas now number over 1,000 globally and half live in Uganda, thanks to conservation funded by responsible tourism. In this five days, you will trek Bwindi’s rainforest to meet a mountain gorilla family, then cross to Queen Elizabeth National Park for classic savannah wildlife and a Kazinga Channel boat cruise. Drive times are thoughtfully planned to keep transfers short while maximizing time in nature, with the Ishasha route linking both parks and offering a chance to see tree climbing lions. The tour is moderate. You will hike on steep, sometimes muddy slopes at altitude for 2 to 6 hours. Porters and trekking sticks will be available, and groups are assigned by fitness level. Dry-season departures are easiest.
