The story is different in Uganda and Rwanda. A chimpanzee's call may reach you before the animal shows up. This place is full of wildlife that will draw you into the jungle, up misty mountain slopes, and along landscapes. Uganda is known more for its range of tropical habitats and opportunities to see primates than for the wonderful migration shows that can be seen in the Serengeti and Maasai Mara.

Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale, mountain go rilla trekking in Bwindi, golden monkey trekking in Volcanoes National Park, and a colobus monkey tracking in Nyungwe Forest are simply some of the primates that you will see on this 12-day safari in Uganda and Rwanda. Kibale is famous for having a giant variety of primate species. Nyungwe, on the other hand, is home to 13 primate species and is in one of Rwanda's best montane rainforest settings.

The drive will change its pace on purpose as it goes from forest to grass. In between days of seeing many primates, Queen Elizabeth National Park will give you a chance to see open grasslands and wildlife.

Lake Bunyonyi will provide you a peaceful break in the highlands before you cross into Rwanda. As the safari goes from Lake Victoria country to western Uganda and across the Virunga highlands, you will not see the same scenery over and over again. Instead, the elevation, vegetation, climate, and wildlife will all change.

This tour will be moderate because the main activities will be several walks through the forest instead of just driving around and seeing sights. In Bwindi, tracking gorillas can take anywhere from 2 to 7 hours, depending on the family you're with, the terrain, and how the animals move. Once you find them, you can watch them for up to an hour. It's important to have good physical fitness, good balance, and the confidence to walk on uneven ground because the forest can be steep, muddy, slippery, and full of plants.

Most chimpanzee treks in Kibale last between 2 and 5 hours. Nyungwe colobus monkey tracking can take anywhere from few munites to several hours. When you go golden monkey hiking in Volcanoes, the ground can be steep or muddy at times. Another physical thing to consider is long road transfers, like the trip from Volcanoes to Nyungwe, which can take six to seven hours depending on traffic and stops.

No technical hiking skills are needed, travelers should be able to walk for long amounts of time and get wet or muddy. Yet people with disabilities or any special requirements should let our tour specialist team know for arranging a convenient itinerary. Strong hiking boots, walking poles, and rain gear can make days in the forest a lot easier. For an extra fee, porters can also be hired for the gorilla hike. You have to be at least 15 years old to go gorilla tracking in Uganda, so you should think about your age and fitness level before making a booking.
