Overview
Kibale National Park protects one of East Africa’s densest primate populations and over 370 bird species especially around Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. You will track wild chimpanzees from Kanyanchu Visitor Centre, then spend a morning birding the rich papyrus swamps with expert local guide. Distances are kept short to maximize time in nature, and responsible travel choices will directly support conservation and local livelihoods.
Difficulty Level
The tour is moderate: about 2 to 5 hours of forest walking on uneven, sometimes muddy trails; minimum tracking age is 16; small group sizes for a calm, ethical wildlife encounter.

Itineraries
Day 1: Arrive Entebbe & Travel to Kibale
You will arrive at Entebbe and meet your Swift Africa Safaris expert driver guide. After a briefing, you will drive west through tea covered hills to Fort Portal and continue to Kibale (approx. 330 km; typically 5 to 6 hours by road). On arrival you will settle into your forest lodge and stretch your legs on a short nature walk at dusk to listen for great blue turaco and robin chats. Early dinner and rest tomorrow is chimp day.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest
Day 3: Bird Watching in Bigodi & Departure
