Uganda is a great place to visit if you want more than only a normal African safari. South Africa and Tanzania are known for their large savannas and high concentrations of wildlife. Uganda, on the other hand, has a wider range of landscapes to offer, including the mighty Nile at Murchison Falls, the forests of Kibale that are home to chimpanzees, and the misty mountain rainforest of Bwindi. As a result, crossing places off a list will feel less like that and more like going from one world to another.

The different things that happen on this safari are what will make it so interesting. First you'll see the Nile from the water, then you'll walk under a thick tropical canopy looking for chimpanzees, and finally you'll go into an old forest where mountain gorillas live. The Nile flows into Murchison Falls National Park, which is about 3,840 km² in size. The river flows in a narrow gorge and is home to elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, and crocodiles.

The things you do in the forest will completely change the rhythm. Kibale is famous for having a wide range of primates and for guiding chimpanzee tracking. Bwindi, on the other hand, protects one of the most important places in the world for mountain gorillas to live.

In Bwindi, the Batwa cultural experience will teach you about history, community life, and the knowledge that the Batwa have about the forest. The experience is focused on the community and helps protect Batwa culture and mountain gorillas in Bwindi.

Difficulty Level

Overall, this safari will be pretty easy. The gorilla trek will be the most physically difficult part. Most of the time, watching wildlife will be done in a comfortable vehicle, and the Nile cruises won't require much physical effort. In Kibale, the chimpanzee tracking walk will take place on forest trails, which may have uneven or muddy ground.

Gorilla trekking in Uganda will require a sufficient level of fitness because the forest terrain can be steep, slippery and uneven. The trek could take several hours, depending on where the assigned gorilla family has moved. It can get wet in the forest even when it's dry in other places. 

There will be some long days of travel on the road transfers, especially between Murchison Falls, Kibale, and Bwindi. So, the itinerary is good for people who don't mind long, beautiful drives in different landscapes.
