Moderate, with one hard day. The Tanzanian game drives are from the vehicle, and nothing requires fitness, though there are several long road days. The gorilla trek is steep, muddy and at altitude, and lasts from one to several hours each way. There are two international and several domestic movements, so pack light for small aircraft. June to October is the best overlap: Tanzania is dry and at its best for game viewing, and Rwanda's gorilla trails are firmer. January and February are also dry in both countries. The long rains from March to May make for green and quiet travel, with mud on the trails. The Great Migration moves through the Serengeti through the year, and we advise on the area for your month.
